How To Find the Right Real Estate Website Developer
First a disclaimer. We currently have no relationships with any of the following firms. Our recommendations are based solely from conversations we have had with our neighborhood professional clients and our own research.
In order to best evaluate these companies we recommend the following:
- When first visiting these companies look at their actual website with a critical eye—Is it easy to read? Can you find the information you want easily? Do they try to educate you, or do they try to sell you? Do you like the look and feel? After all, if they are going to design your website, you better like theirs!
- Most of these companies have a sample list or directory of the websites they have completed—it is essential to visit some of these example websites and see how they work.
- Call the agents whose websites you like and ask them about their experience dealing with the web development company.
- When you visit an agent's website you like, note their farm area (check the title bar) and then do a google search to see where and if their websites are in the search results for their farm areas. This will be a good indicator of the quality of the SEO.
- Make sure you talk extensively to these web development firms about what kind of search engine optimization (SEO) options they offer. They should be knowledgeable and offer you examples of the clients they have helped.
- If you pay for extra SEO, find out exactly what your expectations should be in terms of results.
- Finally, if you are a Neighborhood Professional customer, we are happy to “steer” you in the right direction or discuss any questions you might have about developing a new website or changing your old one. We can be reached at (888) 241-0123 x104.

Advanced
Access: They were one of the first companies on
the scene and they have a very large client base.
Their main “Classic” package has a setup
fee of $599 and monthly costs of $39.99. They have
options for many bells and whistles and higher fees
apply to those options. Their website has some great
resources for agents as well.
Agent Image:
They do both templated and custom design. Their
AgentPlus templates start at $499 and $40/month
hosting fees. Their AgentPro template is $799 and
$40/month hosting. The AgentPro has more pages and
more opptortunities for SEO. They also have a
semi-custom option and a completely custom option.
Best Image
Marketing: Their “Number1 Expert”
template is their main product and their directory of
agents using their websites is over 2,200. They also
partner with Harmon Homes and Homes.com. Pricing was
not readily available, but we understand that their
“Diamond” sites are approximately
$4,000.
Blitz
Development: Their AgentNet product has two
versions: Basic for $150 setup/$50month hosting and
the Plus package for $250 setup/$60/month hosting.
Their pricing is on the lower end but their product
looks like a great value and they really know how to
do SEO. Their website also contains some excellent
educational articles for agents.
Real
Estate Webmasters: They have both templated and
custom designs. SEO is a big part of what they do, and
in fact the main prinicipal in the company is known as
the “SEO Guy”. We couldn't determine
prices but we could see that a number of their
customers have achieved very high search engine
rankings. They also have a very useful forum for
trading links.
